what is optical module

The optical module is composed of optoelectronic devices, functional circuits and optical interfaces. The optoelectronic devices include two parts: transmit and receive.

Simply put, the role of optical module is photoelectric conversion, the transmitter side of the electrical signal into optical signals, through the optical fiber transmission, the receiver and then convert the optical signal into electrical signals.
